I was quite disappointed with Road Town , the capital, which has very little to offer the curious visitor.
Strolling through the center we saw the walls of HM Prison, the 18th century prison, a veritable fortress used as a prison where it often happens to hear voices and music from prisoners' cells listening to the radio at night.
What a strange place these British Virgin Islands, a British colony but which of british has nothing! You drive on the left, you use the American dollar, there are all the most famous stars and stripes franchises ... ah no ... they have the Union Jack as a flag, sorry!
So, if you want to spend a pleasant day on this island, we suggest you go to Cane Garden Bay, the center of Tortola. Spend the day at this northwestern beach swimming in turquoise water, renting a boat or kayak, snorkeling and enjoying great food. Then, when the sun sets, the town wakes up and the live music of the various cafes or bars like Quito’s Gazebo, Elm and Myett’s - will accompany you all night long!
