Canary Islands

What to do in two days?

Here's what you can't miss in these magnificent Atlantic islands, ideal both for adventurous trips with friends and for romantic escapes of love as well as relaxing family excursions!

The Canary Islands are located in a temperate zone with an eternal spring-summer climate, therefore they represent an ideal destination all year round.
There are seven islands: Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Tenerife, La Gomera, El Hierro and La Palma.

The beauty of nature is the main feature of the Canaries, islands where places declared world heritage sites and natural parks compete to attract the attention of visitors.

In the smaller western islands, rarely visited by tourists, it is possible to walk among the pine woods and follow centuries-old paths that connect all the small villages.

The canarios love to party and every occasion is good to enjoy the fun; on each island there is almost always a local party to attend. After all, here you can really enjoy your life!

Any advice on main parties? No problem:

  • Carnival, 10/14 days before Lent and guaranteed fun on all the islands.
  • El Entrerò de la Sardina. Last day of Carnival!
  • Feast of the Virgen del Pino (Gran Canaria) from 6 to 8 September.
  • Festival de Musica de Canaria, on all the islands, in January and February.
  • Rimedia de san Roque, Tenerife, in August.

The islands are not very large but incorporate landscapes of all kinds from the long sandy beaches of Fuerteventura and the dunes of Gran Canaria to the majestic Atlantic cliffs of Tenerife to the woods wrapped in the fog of La Gomera.

The easternmost islands are characterized by an almost Saharan desert landscape while La Palma and La Gomera have green and luxuriant corners. Tenerife hosts the highest mountain of Spain: the Pico de Tiene which dominates the island from its 3718 meters.

The Canary Islands seem to be made specifically for living outdoors.
Hikers and more adventurous spirits generally prefer the smaller islands in particular La Gomera, La Palma and, as far as water sports are concerned, Lanzarote.
However, it is possible to get away from the crowds and go on an adventure on any of the seven islands since they all boast splendid itineraries for hiking and biking as well as a wide range of water sports given the favorable wind.

The islands are crossed, in all directions, by hundreds of paths to cover in relax in enchanting landscapes. If you have strong legs, the bicycle is the perfect way to discover the Canary Islands; in all the islands there are rentals and numerous agencies offer guided tours of one or more days.

Being parents we can say that the Canary Islands are very hospitable for families and welcome your little ones with open arms. We have traveled with three 2 year olds kids and we have never encountered any difficulty. Food is super as well as the facilities, everywhere there are green areas with games where your kids can have a great time!

This archipelago is perfect whether you are a group of friends looking for adventures, whether you are a family with desire for relaxation and tranquility.

Of course, I do not recommend to visit them all in one trip, choose one or two and enjoy them properly!
